AED Course
Until recently cardiac defibrillation has been a specialist resuscitation
skill confined to medical personnel. Technological advances have
resulted in the production of a new generation of defibrillators, which are
semi-automatic. In consequence non-medically trained personnel are
able to deliver controlled electric shocks to patients in cardiac arrest
Course Content
• Resuscitation and CPR
• Chain of Survival
• Anatomy of the Heart
• Heart Rhythms
• Familiarisation with Equipment and Accessories
• Practical Application and Safety Procedures
• Documentation and Recording of Events
Course Duration
The course is run over half a day (4 hours), and is made as informative,
yet as enjoyable as possible, thus allowing the students to gain
confidence in what is a new and possibly somewhat daunting skill.
Certification
In accordance with the Resuscitation Council guidelines, we recommend
that training is renewed on a 6 monthly basis
